Russia to release Greenpeace doctor

Yekaterina Zaspa, one of the 30 people arrested during a Greenpeace protest, has been released by a court in St Petersburg.

She was protesting with her companions of Greenpeace in a ship, were she works as a doctor,  against the drilling in the Arctic. They were all oarrested under the charge of hooliganism, the offence carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

The pre-trial of the Australian activist Colin Russel has been extended for another three months.

Prosecutors have asked St Petersburg’s courts to keep all 30 detainees in jail beyond the 24th of November, when their current detention period runs out.

Seven people have hearings on Monday.
